Welcome to TapIn. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TapIn mobile application ("App") operated by Securim Inc ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using TapIn, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use TapIn. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or bans.
- You may delete your account at any time via Profile → Delete Account.
3. How TapIn Works
TapIn uses your device's GPS location to automatically place you in a public chat room tied to your physical location. You can also post "Moments" (temporary photo posts) visible to nearby users (public) or only your friends. Your general area is shown publicly, but your exact coordinates are never shared with other users.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to use TapIn to:
- Post, share, or transmit any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or obscene.
- Share or solicit personally identifiable information of others without consent.
- Stalk, harass, or threaten any other user.
- Impersonate any person or entity.
- Post spam, unsolicited promotions, or misleading content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its infrastructure.
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of content you post on TapIn. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the App. We do not claim ownership of your content.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. We do not pre-screen user content but reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or our community standards.
6. Location Services
TapIn requires location access to function. By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of your location data as described in our Privacy Policy. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings, but this will disable core App features.
7. Moments & Content Expiry
Public and Friends Moments are automatically deleted after 24 hours. Chat visit history is retained for 48 hours. We do not guarantee permanent storage of any user-generated content, and you should not rely on TapIn as a permanent storage solution.
8. Intellectual Property
The TapIn name, logo, app design, and all related intellectual property are owned by Securim Inc. You may not use, copy, or reproduce any of our trademarks or proprietary materials without our written permission.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in harmful behavior, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may also terminate your account at any time by deleting it in the App.
10. Disclaimers
TapIn is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components. Use of the App is at your own risk.
We are not responsible for any user-generated content, the conduct of other users, or any real-world encounters that may arise from using the App.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Securim Inc shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of TapIn, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of TapIn after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
